The Location

This is a pay-to-access park managed by the Army Corps of Engineers.

A small fishing pier is accessible before you reach the pay station, although as of July 2018 is in disrepair and likely not safe to stand on. A short trail leads from the entrance road to the narrow water inlet with the pier. The trail is easy to access and can be checked for birds in less than 10 minutes.
